Kathy's Bike Ride

On 26th May 2020 Kathy Gooding completed her epic 200 mile cycle challenge raising funds for Hftrust. To date, she has raised over £7,000. Local residents lined the route to cheer her to the finish, waving flags and ringing bells. She was accompanied by a police car for the last section of her ride, and was presented with a bouquet of flowers on a pole, as befitted the social distancing guidelines in force at the time.

"A huge thank you to all our friends and neighbours in Catbrook, Whitelye and elsewhere for the support and love that you have shown to Kathy as she completed her cycle challenge.  Your amazing support and generosity have enabled her to raise over £6000 for the charity Hf Trust.  Our heartfelt thanks to you all.  It is great to know that we are part of such a good and supportive community.

It was wonderful to see so many people as Kathy rode her final lap on Tuesday, and for her to have all that applause as she progressed along her route. We’ll never forget the police escort with blue light and sirens from Broadstone to the hall, the reception outside the Memorial Hall, bedecked with flags, bunting and balloons, and Andy’s unique presentation of beautiful flowers to Kathy. It was a very special and memorable day for us.

Thank you all so very, very much."
